Sojourners in the Playground of Time
for 15 players, premiered by the Trinity Laban Contemporary Music Group at the Queen’s House, as a part of the Daryl Runswick Competition Final 2025
I. Colonnades to Turmoil II. The Orphans of Seamen III. Eternal Tulips The Queen's House has witnessed countless departures and arrivals of sojourners, each occupied a fraction of history but never owned this magnificent building for a prolonged time. It is like a playground of time, where time teases people who never knew the upcoming fate ahead of them. The house sees the tumultuous change of reigns from the Tudors to the Stuarts, the residence of artists and creators, then embraced the orphans of seamen since early 19th century, withstanding several major warfare. Today, it resides in the heart of Greenwich with tranquillity, navigating the flowing time like the everblooming flora on the tulip stairs.
